THE ULTIMATE TANNING TIPS!!

If you were looking for that gorgeous deep tan and ended up with a grayish skin tone as many of us unfortunately do here's a complete list of tips that will ensure you get that healthy, beautiful and glowing color:

**Remember - Tanned skin requires special care. The tanning process, whether indoors or in the sun, can be very drying to the skin. Excessive exposures can result in premature aging and wrinkling of the skin. Preparing the skin before and replenishing the skins' cells after tanning exposures is of the utmost importance.

A .:.:.:.:. PREPARE YOUR SKIN
1 - EXFOLIATE, EXFOLIATE, EXFOLIATE
One of the biggest reasons we end up with a shabby tan, or 'ugly' color is because we forget to EXFOLIATE. Dry, dull or dead skin cells will actually retract bronzers and UV radiation which can cause uneven results. Exfoliation is key to getting a beautiful long-lasting tan. Use a natural exfoliator for a healthier option, you can even make the BEST exfoliators at home!

2 - KEEP YOUR SKIN MOISTURIZED
for the specific purpose of enhancing your tan, moisturize your body with natural oil. In general, a healthy gorgeous tan comes off  healthy skin which is moisturized and supple. Natural oils like olive oil, coconut, hazelnut and almond oil  have long been considered excellent emollients  that soothe and soften the skin, and from the tanning perspective these oils help greatly in promoting a very rich tan .Aside from their incredible health benefits they also prolong the color. Combine a mixture of these oils or use each alone to moisturize your skin prior to your tan. We recommend you mix almond, coconut, and hazelnut oils for a sexy brown color.
Tip a great way to enhance your tan is by applying a mixture of these oils on your skin before you sleep to be absorbed for your tanning session the next day.
**Remember to use 100% virgin and/or organic oils.

B .:.:.:.:. PICK YOUR PRODUCT
ONE is good, TWO are more than enough!  Keep it simple. The first product being your tanning oil or lotion, and the second would be the sunscreen for your face. Pick a product with a low SPF if you don't have much time to sit in the sun and oils are much more recommended over lotions. For your face it is extremely important to choose a sun block with a high SPF as exposure will most definitely harm and age your skin in the hot summer sun!
Tip combine the mixture of oils you used at home in a bottle to spray sparingly before you spray your tanning oil on!
(see the photo for examples of the most popular tanning products used here)

Tip another great time and time again proven trick is CARROT JUICE LADIES! YES drink it, or add it to your mixture and that tan will dig deep in your skin! (don't add way too much just a few table spoons)

C .:.:.:.:. DON'T SOAK IN THE SUN, YOU WILL BURN, NOT TAN!
If you think cooking yourself in the sun will give you a tan, then girl you are WRONG! Trust me on this one.
Instead of baking the whole time and possibly passing out or feeling exhausted or nauseous, here's how to do it best:
*APPLY YOUR TANNING OIL
*LET IT DRY, (UP TO TEN MINUTES ON EACH SIDE)
then get in the water and swim. when you get back out do the same thing. PLEASE DO NOT ROAST.

D .:.:.:.:. PICK YOUR TIMES.
Tanning when the sun in not too hot is the best time to get a golden tan as oppose to a grey tan. Tanning at 9:00am to 11:00am or 3:45pm to 5:45pm will help you gradually obtain a healthy tan rather than have your skin burn, peel , and get back to square one with a white awkward patch on your skin.

THE ULTIMATE TAN ROUTINE (personal experience)
Tan for 2 hours MAX 3 times a week, and go to Hollywood tan's tanning booth for the recommended time (not the spray tan). Make sure you alternate *one day tanning in the sun, the other day tan in the booth* NEVER attempt to do them both in the same day! You will get burnt or faint due to over exposure to heat!

Yes getting overly exposed to either sun or the tanning booth is bad for your health and skin but everything should be done "within reason"

Don't tan all year round. Just wait for the summer and hit the beach , and let your skin rest in the winter and fall. Resort to professional self tanners if you feel like you have exposed your self too much to sun.

Hope these tips and tricks help you get a sexy tan!!
